Abstract

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a major global health concern, and increasing evidence indicates that its risk factors can develop early in adulthood. Lifestyle behaviors such as physical inactivity, unhealthy dietary patterns, tobacco and alcohol use, inadequate sleep, chronic stress, and sedentary behavior may contribute to the development of cardiovascular risk among young adults. Although clinical cardiovascular events are less common in this age group, the accumulation of modifiable risk factors can contribute to obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, and other metabolic abnormalities that increase long-term CVD risk. A contemporary clinical assessment of young adults should therefore consider both conventional clinical indicators and behavioral factors. Early identification of these risks provides an opportunity for preventive interventions, including improved nutrition, regular physical activity, weight management, smoking cessation, adequate sleep, and stress reduction. This article examines the relationship between lifestyle factors and cardiovascular disease risk among young adults and highlights the importance of early risk assessment and preventive strategies. Greater awareness among young adults and healthcare professionals may support timely intervention and contribute to reducing the future burden of cardiovascular disease..
