Abstract

Healthcare workers are exposed to a wide range of occupational hazards, including biological, chemical, physical, ergonomic, and psychological risks. These hazards can adversely affect their health and professional performance. This paper examines major occupational health risks among healthcare workers and evaluates strategies for improving workplace safety. Exposure to infectious diseases, needle-stick injuries, chemical substances, musculoskeletal strain, workplace violence, and psychological stress are considered important concerns. Effective infection-control practices, appropriate personal protective equipment, occupational health monitoring, staff training, and organizational support can reduce workplace risks. Strengthening occupational health programs is essential for protecting healthcare workers and maintaining safe healthcare environments
