Abstract

Industrial automation increasingly relies on autonomous robotic systems to improve material-handling efficiency, workplace safety and production flexibility. This study presents a conceptual design and performance analysis of an autonomous mobile robot for transporting materials within industrial environments. The proposed robotic platform integrates sensors, navigation algorithms, obstacle-detection mechanisms and a motor-control system to support autonomous movement between predefined locations. The system is designed to identify obstacles, determine suitable navigation paths and transport materials without continuous human intervention. The study examines important performance parameters including navigation accuracy, obstacle avoidance, battery consumption, payload capacity and operational reliability. The proposed system demonstrates the potential of autonomous mobile robots to reduce repetitive manual handling and improve workflow efficiency in smart manufacturing environments. Such systems can provide a flexible foundation for future Industry 4.0 applications involving intelligent logistics and automated material transportation.
